Can anyone help?

I have been diagnosed with an anal fissure. I think that it was caused by an unhealthy diet (i dont know, im not a doctor) but i think it was caused when i wasnt getting enough fibre in my diet and i was becoming constipated on a regular basis. I suffered with constipation for a long time and i started to relise that it was really very painfull to go to the toilet and pass stools. They were always hard and felt like i was trying to pass glass.

I went to the doctors and he simply said that it was an anal fissure and gave me fibregel, to help regulate my bowel motions. The firbregel help a little and it started to heal. Im not completly sure if its healed because im still finding it a little bit uncomfortable. How long does it take for a fissure to fully heal?

Recently i have not been constipated but i have started to get diarrea every time i pass stools. I dont understand what is going on, does anyone have any similar experiences and advice.

Im also prone to hemroids which are very uncomfortable, does anyone know how to prevent getting them????? :confused: :confused:

I am not a doctor but here is my advice. To prevent hemorrhoids, try and not strain on the toilet, don't sit on the toilet for long periods of time, and keep your stools soft by taking fiber and possibly stool softeners.

I have been taking a nutritional supplement called L-Glutamine. I think that it has been very helpful so far in helping heal my fissure. I learned about it from another person who takes it and had a fissure that she healed. This person takes a lot more than what is recommended on the bottle. I don't take quite as much. It is supposed to make the tissue stronger that is down in that region.
