Hi all... long time since i've been on here :D
Anyway, i wonder if anyone can give me some pointers as to what this may be..
I'm getting a short sharp/shooting/burning type pain, very severe, on the heel of my foot under certain circumstances. The pain is sort of in the middle of the base of the heel (perhaps off to the outside slightly) and appears to run just inside the skin in a line towards the back of the heel and a bit above... i'd say about an inch or two in total.
It only happens when my leg is perfectly straight and my foot is pointing up (ie towards my head) and inwards slightly. It doesnt seem dependant on if theres any pressure on it ie i dont need to be walking or standing.. it can happen in bed when i'm just turning over with my leg straight., and it will always happen walking up a steep hill.
Its almost like i'm stretching something to the point of tearing it. It doesnt happen at all with my leg bent.
Help? Any ideas? its been doing it about six weeks now and i was hoping it would go away. I do a certain amount of hang gliding which involves carrying a glider up steep hills.. and i think this maybe is when i caused the problem... but i dont remember doing anything. I'm trying not to walk up too many hills at the mo (very rare over winter anyway).
Thanks
