While on these kind of medications, is it okay to take Advil or pain medications?

And I get super stimulated and a smaller dose isn't an option, are there medications to calm me down, like heart rate and to prevent ticks and nervousness?

My son takes concerta and has no problem taking motrin when he has a headache. I think heart palpitations are common, however if you are uncomfortable about the intensity be sure to ask your doctor. You say that a smaller dose is not an option, but perhaps it's not the right med instead of dose. It's worth discussing this with a Dr. as they sometimes use 2 smaller doses or a combination of drugs that might work better. Unfortunately we become like guinea pigs, but you need to continue a dialogue with your Dr.Hope this is helpful.

Doc said any of the over the counter pain relievers would be okay for me. They shouldn't cause any problem... just make the headache go away :)

The heart racing and such is normal in the beginning. I seldom get that anymore. I just had to adjust to the meds. I also take Welbutrin for the moodiness and "crashes". Possible option you could discuss with you doc? Tics are present with me and have been all my life but they aren't any worse while on the meds so I haven't done anything about it. No help on that one, sorry.

How long have you been on the meds?

I don't like taking it regularly even though I probably should. I can't tell you how many almost accidents I've had driving b/c I was looking the other way.

I know that feeling when driving. When I go on road trips, I normally take mine. Though my prescription directions say 3 times a day, I only take it as needed per my doctor. Concert would be the same way. You take it, it works and it's gone. If I'm at home on a Saturday vegging, theres no need in taking it. I don't need to concentrate on mindless TV. Saves money also ;) I can stratch a bottle for over a month :)
