Has anyone had any luck with getting pregnant after taking progesterone suppositories? We have been trying to get pregnant for a few years and we have an appointment with a fertility clinic to discuss ivf which I am really excited about. My gyn just put me on the suppositories because he wants to see if it will make a difference. He's not sure if I need them or not, he said i was borderline. Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Hi Carisa,

I did have the vaginal suppostories 1X with injectibles and IUI but it did not work for me. I know several on the board have tried it not sure if it worked but hopefully if it did one of them will write you back. I am very excited that you are going to see RE about IVF. I just saw a new RE for a second opinion and we discussed IVF and even though I am not ready just yet, the chances seem to really increase with IVF. I don't know if you saw on other threads that acupucture with IVF increases your chances even more but I thought I would let you know in case your interested. Good luck at your appt.!!!!! I am in my second 2ww and it should end on Friday. My RE gives me the supps starting the day after IUI. I've never had a BFP but I'm hoping that it worked this time, I'll let you know. I've read others on the board say that they are using it before IUI and I don't know if that works any better but others will chime in. Good luck and baby dust to you.

Deluka-funny you should mention accupuncture along with ivf. I just talked to a fertility accupuncturist that works with two major fertility centers in northern california and she said the same thing. In fact, the fertility places that I have looked into both recommend it very much. So I am definitley going to be doing that in the near future. Wish me luck and I will let you all know if anything works out for me!!
