I am scheduled to have my second colposcopy the second week of Jan since my Nov. pap results came back with "some changes" and according to the nurse, "things have gotten worse." (I had mild displaysia last Dec. of 05 after I had my first colposcopy, a pap in June 06 showed no changes.) So of course, I'm thinking the absolute worse.
I recently got married and although I wanted to wait at least a year from now before having a baby, I can't help but think it's something I need to do sooner because "things have gotten worse."
For some reason, I'm already in the mindset that I will need a LEEP procedure after my second colposcopy next week. I just feel that it's coming to that. I am usually not a pessimistic person but I feel that I would rather accept it now and be prepared for it. I have been researching and reading a ton of information lately, some of which are reassuring but others can be really scary. Sometimes it's hard to be optimistic...I'm trying!
I recently read that a dr. should be able to tell you which type of HPV you have after the colposcopy or maybe it was the LEEP; one of these procedures. I am hoping to get this information since there are some that are worse than others. I feel like it's something I really need to know so I know what to expect in the future! Anyone have more insight on this...
Thanks!
