I had two (upper and lower) on my left side removed a month and a half ago. They were not causing me any problems other than they were "hard" to clean. Stupid me went ahead and had them removed right cause your dentist wouldn't just take teeth out of your head that you use. Turns out I used to use them alot to chew plus now might bite is off. So consequently I now have symptoms of TMJ. I thought I had the effects of a sinus cold or infection which I did have but after a week it seemed to clear up. Couldn't get an hour or two a sleep a night then. Constant pain in face, ears, teeth. Then one day I felt relatively pain free. So I go to try to find a new bite that was confortable for me. Even though I knew I was biting down kinda hard in a manor that my mouth wasn't used to I thought I could retrain with some practice. An hour or two later I got sharp pains in my face, ear pains plus tinnitus, and teeth pain. All this happened over the holidays so I could not see someone for treatment. I have an appointment to see my regular doctor to check for a sinus infection if thats what it is. Plus I plan to call in to the dentist and try to get a diagnosis of what is causing the pain. What a way to spend your holidays right. So to anyone listening if you have no problem with your teeth even if they are crooked or need root canal and a crown. Do not get teeth extracted unless you are prepared for the consequences of everything or anything that can go wrong.
