hey im 22 and been haveing some flashing light go off when im trying to go to sleep every time i open my eys or blink in the dark i see them or some times i see thing from the corner of my eys that are not even there has any one ever had the same

i have worked in optics for 23 years jimmyyy (not a qualified opthamic) and it sounds to me liek a couple of things first off flashing lights can be a sign of migraines, also a sign of pressures being up in your eye, so my advise is to get it checked out, have you been getting any headaches too? if you go to the doctorsthey will advise youto get your eyes testedby an optician. The things you can see when you look out of the corner of your eye soundslike 'floaters' lots of peopel suffer with these,they arent harmful its just protein buildups not harmful just annoying more than anything,when you blink or move your eye they seem to fly across the surface of the eye. Apologies if i havent made much sense.

Anyone seeing flashes of light should get their eyes checked by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.

sounds like visual migraine..check it out on the net..go see the eye doctor to be sure...this will give you peace of mind
