I was thinking about using the weight loss supplement clenbuterol, has anyone else with epilepsy taken clenbuterol... If so how did it react with you I have a minor case of epilepsy and i am on topamax, but it really hasn't helped me lose any weight like it is said to do... I have only had 2 isolated seizures in my entire life... Anyone that could help would be much appreciated...

I would definately say no. You're taking a mild, but effective medication (topamax) for seizures. That medication has a tendency to cause slight weight loss in some people, but not all. Even if your body seems to tolerate Caffeine, ephedrine, ect..and you have not experienced an attack; by taking Clenbuterol you're increasing the risk of having one because clen will amp up your heart rate and increase your body temperature, therefore blood flow to the brain increases, and your central nervous system is greatly affected.

Everything that I had read about CLENBUTEROL would make me want to stay away from it.

DON'T TAKE IT!! I was taking a weight loss product prior to knowing that the strange things happening to me were seizures. I had a ton of them and according to my doc, the effedrin(sp?)that was in it INCREASED my seizure activity. I went from Simple Partial to Gran Mal. I wouldn't do that if I were you. Loose weight the old fashion way...BURN IT!! Normal diet and exercise. Exercise will do it every time and if you keep up an exercise routine for over 2 weeks then your body is burning fat 24/7. Trust me. After I got off of the weight loss pill I lost more weight (65 lbs)in the same time but safer and better for my seizures.

Please don't take it!!

God Bless you sweetie,
KittyMom

Ripped140 & rythmic,

I wanted to welcome you to the board. WELCOME!! As you have probably seen, this place is a never ending flow of information. Everyone here has something different yet they can relate to you because they have experienced or are experiencing the same things. It is GREAT!

Please post often. I think it is so nice to have new people and find out all about them. It always makes you feel good when you find someone else that can relate with you. Please tell us more about yourselves and what brought you to us. What is your story?? Is it not you with the "E" but a family member? Do you just have questions on whether you have "E" or not? Tell us more about you!
(Geesh, I sound like Little Susie Sunshine) I am sincere though. I would like to know more about you. Spill the Beans!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/gabby.gif

God Bless you both and welcome,
KittyMom
