I just finished my 1st cycle of Clomid. I did ovulate, but AF showed up surprisingly early. My LP was only 12 days... is that long enough??? I noticed that my temps began very slowly declining around 8-9 dpo (less than .5 degree difference per day)... is that a sign of a LP problem??

Are you talking about a luteal phase?? has your re ever monitored you via u/s to see when you ovulate etc?? i had to do all of that before my re decided to put me on anything or take any treatment, he wanted to whole picture!! im not sure if its to long or short, but i would bring it up to the dr.. good luck!!

Yeah, I'm talking about my luteal phase :) . I'm not seeing an RE because my insurance doesn't cover it. My gyn just gave me a script for 6 rounds of Clomid and told me 'good luck'. I'm only taking 2-3 rounds of Clomid before taking a break, so I want to get it right!

i see, but for certain problems clomd can be a waste of time, and you can end up harming more stuff then good.. (clomid can thin lining etc) if you have a blocked tube there isnt a point in clomid.. i understand it can be expensive, but if you dont knw the IF problem, you could be taking meds you dont need. was your dh checked?? i only say this because my ob tried to give me clomid, before testing anything but my blood.. if i would of taken it i could have ruined my lining, and been on uneccessary meds, with no benefit to getting pregnant at all.. my dh has low sperm count, morph, and motility, so it wouldnt have helped things.. i would def. talk to your dr, and see the cheapest way he can to monitor you... that is very important.. i hope clomid works for you.. and if you can start saving money, because even if its just for a test like hsg, findings out if your tubes are open is important, and a lot of times diagnostic tests are covered.. !! good luck..

She did labs and an ultrasound before prescribing Clomid. The u/s was normal and the labs were normal except that my estradiol was low. She said the estradiol being low (although still higher than menopausal level) meant that my follicles were not maturing and therefore, I wasn't ovulating. I already knew I wasn't ovulating because I had been using a fertility monitor, but it helped to know WHY I wasn't ovulating. I felt like it was a good sign that the Clomid worked last month since I hadn't been ovulating prior to taking it.

well thats good that your ob did a u/s! some dont bother, which is surprising to me, because its so important.. i hope that things work for you real soon, and all you need is clomid.. but i was just saying that because if your tubes are blocked or your dh has low counts etc.. clomid isnt gonna do anything.. the hsg and tests on your husband should be standard IF protocol.. maybe its just an ovulating problem, and you wil get your BFP real soon.. GOod Luck!
