don't know if pain medicine is causing that. It dosn't affect me although medicine affects everyone different. Don't even ever recall seeing that as a side effect of pain meds. You could very easily research that. I would be first concerned as to wether or not he is depressed. If he is taking pain medicine he must be having some chronic pain which is very likely gonna cause some type of depression. Depression could very well be causing ed.

Hi kelsey, Antidepressants are often used in PM and are notorious for causing ED, POpiates can also cause lowered tesstosteron in men and probably women which is what controls labido. ED meds only address blood flow, they have nothing to do with desire. If his testosterone is low which happened to me from taking opiates, no dose of cialis or lavitra will give him drive or have any effect on labido. Fortuntely it;'s as easy as a blood test and if your doc is thourough, he will do a MRI of the brain to check the pituitary for tumors, Most P tumors are benign but hey can damge the the gland or cause it to not work properly andand regulate hormone levels.

This started for me with methadone but has come and gone with the change of meds and the change in delivery kethod. Fortunately there is an easy solution which is to supplement low levels untill he's back in the normal range. This can be done with injections or more stable can be achieved with daily aplication of topical Androgel or a patch. BetweenAndrogel and excercise which is great for labido, I have scripts for that stuff I wouldn't bother filling. ED treatments only work on blood flow problems, labido is a hormonal or emotional problem. Hopefully levels can be supplemented back to normal for his age. I'm about to turn 41 and I'm no where near puting that chapter of my life to rest. :D

Good luck and give us a happy update if you find an answer. ;)
Take care, Dave

Maybe the problem isn't related to his pain meds, instead it could be related to the condition that is causing his chronic pain? Is his pain caused by back or spine problems?

I was just going to ask the very same question as Laenini just did.one thing we and docs tend to do sometimes is contribute all and any symptoms to the most obvious reason(tunnel vision?) when there could be a totally different reason for a particular symptom going on.knowing what his actual pain condition is would really help alot.Marcia

Hi.I know with myself, and other males i've talked to,opiates actually make it last longer than usual[erec.] Could it be his injury? Does he have a back injury? Because just yesterday i was watching a show were this minister was getting his erectile pump repaired, and the reason why he needed the pump was due to a back injury, somehow it affected the nerves.Stick by your man,my ex left me when i hurt my back, not that i couldn't do the deed, the pain level at the time discouraged my desire for sex.But now,i grind so fine, and stay strong so long!

MEn are wired very different. When I read the part that said is our sex life over, it made my cringe a little. If a man hears that, the pressure is on to perfrom, and the sex will be out the window. The more difficult it is, the more pressure builds, and it becomes a never ending circle. Even Cialis and Viagra require the person to relax and be arroused and not to be stressed about it. There is not a magic pill that will get a guy up, even when he is doing his taxes. He must not have the worries of performing. This may be just his age, the underlying med condition, or like some said other reasons. But remember it could have been something as small as a sentence you said that now will not allow him to function due to the stress of trying to function. Only guys I think can understand this terrible circle.
