I would get a new doctor, sign for release of information so the other doc would HAVE to send copies of the results. You could also contact the state medical board and report this. You have a right to know the results- period. Any excuses the office comes up with is their problem. You can't be expected to be a partner in your own health care if your doc and/or his office won't give you information. you can also contact the hospital where the tests were done, and again, sign for release of information to have copies sent to you. The new HIPPA laws are pretty specific- you get to know your medical information!!!

A 2-week wait to get results of an MRI is unacceptable. Radiologists read your MRI usually within 24 hours, so the results are available somewhere. I would call the manager of the clinic where your doctor practices and inform him of the unusual delay. You should also inform the clinic manager of the rudeness of the clinic staff. Clinics stay in business because of the insurance payments you bring in. The business manager of the clinic does not want to lose patients.
