hi all,

i am due to have an old silver filling removed next week, from what i have been reading on the net it is not safe....i have only recently been trying to find info on this, and note that you need to get a holistic dentist to do this safely.....i am in the uk and there doesnt seem to be many holistic dentists, and those that do exist are to far for me to travel and way to expensive....

i am 47 and been having amalgams put in teeth since i was about 13 years old
i have concerns about my health as i have been dealing with constant tinnitus for about 14 years and 3 years ago started with chronic form of dizziness similar to mal de debarquement where i feel like im rocking about in a boat all the time and have the illusion that my brain is moving also missed heartbeats and tachycardia......researching these symptoms i have has lead me to info on mercury poisoning.....

i have had a word with my dentist and he says he has a high powered water suction that will stop any dust or vapour from getting in my system, i am still concerned so my question is...........is there anything i can do for myself to help.....i have modified a dust mask to fit over my nose.......would that help?
the dentist also said he could arrange a dam to be used, but i have read they can be good and bad, bad being the bits can get lodged behind the dam.....

over the years i have had about 8 silver filling replaced with white ones and now have about 4 left with 2 crowns that im not sure what is underneath, with these previous replacements i had no idea that it could be dangerous.

so any self help tips would be greatly appreciated........

many thanks

xxx

My mom is going through the same thing...every tooth in her mouth has an amalgam filling except for a few front ones. She has been getting them since she was little and is now 47. About a month and a half ago she had several of her mercury fillings removed, and also a really terrible infected root canal (which are horrible for you) that they found a huge puss pocket under. A few days later my mom started have EXTREME symptoms, to the point where she keeps thinking she is dying. She is very health conscious and should not be having these issues. We both believe it's mercury poisoning, but the dr's want to look for every possible other thing. She has been to the ER SIX times in the last month!!!! A couple times rushed by ambulance! This is due to these episodes she has, and she also cannot eat (well, she can swallow but not chew, because chewing sets her off...maybe releasing too much mercury??) She gets major vertigo, light headed, see black spots light she is passing out, chest pain/tightness, radid heartbeat, arms and hands go numb, and "electric" sensation shoots through her body, her head feels numb, all at the same time....basically, she says she just feels like she is dying. This is so bad that she has to go to the hospital when it happens because she feels it is it...she is dying. She has had her lungs xrayed, ct scans, echocardiograms. They finally on the last one found that she has Mitral Valve Prolapse, but say that something is making it worse, so they have to do more tests. They tested her blood for mercury which she will get the results for on Friday, but i'm not counting on that to tell us anything because you are supposed to do a hair follicle test! It doesn't stay in your blood!! This makes me so mad, I wish they would just find it and fix her! She has had numerous mercury poisoning symptoms over the years. TMJ, migraines, neck pain, constipation, etc.

well.best to have all mercury fillings out as they can poison your blood stream.
even though white fillings are dearer they also look nicer and aslo safer

not very nice having the old fillings out,i do feel for you having so many to be taken out,but once there done you will feel better once they are out .
