Does anyone know anything about this deficiency. I know that it is usually found in children under 4. Does it go away as they get older? My son had to have gama-globulin shots every month for a year. I wonder if they outgrow it and can it always be a problem as they get older.

Kerry,
I am in my 50's and was just diagnosed with common variable immune deficiency (CVID) about a year ago. I am doing subcutaneous infusions 2 times a week. Do a search here, I am sure there are others with.
For me, it is a lifelong treatment.

Is anyone still out there? I just got a diagnosis of CVID and am trying to learn what I can about it. I am 59 years old and don't know how long or how I acquired this. My neurologist had the blood tests done trying to determine why I have polyneuropathy in my feet and hands. I also have a not too common MAC disease of the lungs. Haven't spoken to the doctor since he called to tell me but have an appointment in early February. Information based on experience would be greatly apprieciated. Thanx
