View Full Version : 2 weeks???

Had a mammogram last week, received the dreaded "call back" ("changes on your mammogram"). The thing is, they can't get me in for the diagnostic mammogram for 2 weeks. Is it just me, or does this seem like way too long? I have had call backs before, and they would get me in at the end of that week. I feel they should save some slots for us "call back" people. I had them put my number down if there gets to be an open slot, but I doubt I hear from them. I am a worrier anyway, and this doesn't help! I don't like just being a "file". Just felt like venting, thanks! Any thoughts???

I have received that dreaded letter once (right after my first, baseline mammogram actually) and if I am recalling correctly (it was two summers ago) I had to wait about four weeks for the appointment. Two weeks doesn't sound at all unusual to me. Good luck and I hope all is OK!

Wow - that is a long time - I just received that dreaded call back yesterday and have to go back next Tuesday - although she could have taken me this morning, but had to go to work - now I wish I work have went - and got it over with - now I will be nervous all weekend - worrying - I called back and I'm hoping for a cancellation on Monday. Hopefully you will get in earlier than two weeks - that's way too long to wait. Good luck!! I think the wait is bad at these places all over. It took be almost 4 months to just make my original appointment.

Thanks so much for your replies! I think it is reassuring to read through the posts. I'll keep my fingers crossed for myself and everyone else! Thanks again!
