So I had my first pap after my LEEP today. To give you a quick recap I had CIN III and had the LEEP done 10/4/06. It came back with it all gone and clear margins. So my waiting begins. I'm very optimistic it will come back normal.
Here's the thing. My gyno said it was possible to spot after the pap. I never have in the past, even when pregnant. However, now I am spotting. Should I be concerned because I have never had spotting from a pap before? I'm sure I'm worried for nothing. I'm just so anxious for all the news to be good!

I bled more tham usual after my first post LEEP pap. The doctor actually told me to expect it because my cervix still looked as if it were healing.
The good news is that it came back normal! I had CINIII as well and also had clear margins. My next one is in April. So good luck to you!

I haven't had my first post-proceedure pap (I had a LEEP quickly folowed by a cold knife cone) so I can't speak to that, but I wanted to wish you good luck for clear results!!

I got my results today and am very happy to say it was normal!
The waiting is such torture. I can't wait until March so I can go through this all over again.

i am 19 years old and i had an abnormal pap smear. i then went for a colposcopy/biopsy. i received a call today saying that my cells are high grade abnormality and that i need to go for a LEEP on friday. is the procedure painful? i am just kind of confused about the whole removing vs burning methods. what are the chances of infertility? i am not looking to have children for a while, but someday i definately want a family. just any advice would be helpful at this point. thank you.

HavingHope,
I didn't find the procedure painful because I was "asleep" during the whole thing. There isn't a chance of infertility, more of the cervix being unable to stay closed for the duration of the pregnancy. I suggest talking to your doctor about your concerns, especially where you are so young and what woman your age would be thinking about children.
I would also suggest posting a new thread with this question. Chances are not all the women on here will read this thread and therefore won't see your question. Your more likely to get more helpful responses.
Stay positive. A lot of women have gone through this with successful results!
Everyone else,
Thank you for your kind words!
