Hey all.
so i went to the clinical neuro today because half of my face is numb.
he is sending me for an MRI to specifically look for MS plaques (i'm STILL in diagnostic limbo..)
he said not to freak out, but definintely within the next month at the LATEST i needed to get the MRI done.
any reason for this? im switching insurance in exactly a month and hate the thought of having to pay twice on a deductible/personal max...
when i went to see the ms specialist in sept, and she ordered an mri, she seemed to think i could wait 8-12 weeks.
difference? i'm confuddled.
thanks in advance!
oh...today, the midwest is getting pummeled with rain. anyone elses joints feel like ---->:blob_fire

The sooner the DX ,treatment can start and slow the progression.
Now it comes down to the question the expense of the MRI or wait.It could be that the neuro may see something, reflexes or something that warrants the MRI sooner.
This is a judgement call on you.
When it rains or damp here my joints ache. Its rained so much here that I should be a DUCK.

SRSuper-- I hope you can find a diagnosis soon. I was diagnosed very quickly but in all my reading on the internet, one of the things I remember is that if you suspect you have MS you should get your insurance in order. Don't wait until a positive MS diagnosis because you might have trouble with your insurance paying for things if your switch insurance companies. This is a very expensive disease--I've had lots of MRI which cost several thousand dollars in all plus the meds are outrageous!! Hope things go well for you.

Thanks, bama
yeah i called the insurance co and checked everything out. it looks like itll be covered, but the entirety of my annual deductible.
im very fortunate that both my current job and the one im moving into have good, affordable insurance plans. i know so many people are not as fortunate as i.
