I went to a Dr. recently who practices kinesiology and he said that I had a mild allergy to eggs and he thought that was the reason why I can't conceive. He explained that if my egg were to fertilize it couldn't implant because my body recognizes it as an allergen and tries to rid it. Has anyone heard of something like this? And has anyone known someone with an egg allergy but was able to conceive?

He also tested me for other things (I'm low on estriol and vit. E). I told my DH about this and he said that the Dr. sounds like a quack. I don't know who to believe now.

I've never heard of it either...doesn't mean it's not true, but who knows? Definitely something I would want a second opinion on. Good luck - I hope you find out exactly what's going on soon. Please keep us posted.

Hmm...sounds kind of out there to me but who knows? I would at least look into and get a second opinion. Good luck and let us know what happens.

He does sound quite wacky, but some of my friends have gone to him for other allergies and I could not believe my eyes. One friend had been severely allergic to dogs (breaking out in welts) and now she can roll around with the dog with no problem. I thought if he's helped so many of my friends then why not give him a try? (He costs only $45 a visit) He told me I was allergic to eggs, and that I was low on Vit. E. He treated me for eggs and I'm taking Vit E supplements, so we'll see how it goes. If it doesn't work (I'm not getting my hopes up) then back to my RE I go.

I read your message and if your body was allergic to your eggs than you would be ill from them being inside your ovaries. What happens when an egg is fertilized everyones body produces antibodies which attatch to the embryo and treats it as a parasite and tries to absorb the fertilized egg.Naturally the embryos themself automatically surrounds itself with a protective layer that fights these antibodies away and keeps them from taking over the embryo. So It sounds like your once your eggs are fertilized your eggs are not protecting themselves correctly from these antibodies thus destroying the embryo and keeping it from hatching then implanting.I went through IVF and they perscribed Dexamethasone to guard my embryos and help implantation.Do some research on fighting off antibodies and you may find your answer.I hope this was helpful!!!Let me know

Thanks Sunflower. The Dr. described that way too. It's not my unfertilized eggs that I'm allergic to, but once it's fertilized it's like a parasite that my body is trying to get rid of. That's how I understood his explanation. I'll check out the dexamethasone.
