I have a receding hair line in the front.... but not in the back
What is going on?? Have I clogged up the folicles??.... Did the folicles just stop producing hair????
I was using some liquid Vitamin E Oil for a whole as a hair gel...
Im so worried!!
I bought the "Nioxin"... it burns my scalp bad..... is it really safe??? Does it even work??
Ive been using it for about 2 weeks...
What could I eat to help my hair be healthy?... What are the most important vitamins & minerals for hair???
Also... could I just be worrying over nothing??? Does it stop for many people at a certain point???.... I look @ every guy's scalp that i walk by and notice many of them are experiencing the same problem........
Thanks!!!!!

First question, do you have any brothers?
If so, how is there hair.
Also does your family have a history of hair loss.
How is your father's hair.
It might be genetic.
Here's what I recommend.
5% Rogaine Foam along with Retin A cream.
The Rogain Foam is alot better then the regular Rogaine.
The regular Rogaine is so greasy on your hair.
It was found out, that that applying Retin-A with Minoxidil increases the absorption of Minoxidil on the hair.
Minoxidil is the main incredient in Rogaine.
Retin-A should be applied separately from Minoxidil.
If you mix them together, you will weaken them.
Put the Retin-A on your hair, then wait 15 minutes till it dry's.
Then apply the Minoxidil on your hair.
After awhile, you might want to try 12.5% Minoxidil.
They don't sell this in the stores, but there are places that are now selling it online.
You first want to start off using 5% Minoxidil, so your hair gets used to the Minoxidil.
Then after 5 or 6 months, you can start using the 12.5% Minoxidil.
For shampoos, I like the Thicker Fuller Hair.
They sell it in CVS.
This Shampoo really improves the hair shaft and will make your hair thicker.
It has alot of good ingredients.
Rosemary, Chamomile, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Ginko Biloba Extract, Retinol, Panthenol, Biotin, Aloe, Jojoba
For Vitamins I like the Osteo Bi-Flex.
They make a new one that has Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid. The key ingredient is a potent extract of Boswellia serrata called 5-Loxin, which is 10 times more concentrated than typical Boswellia extracts.
This is a really good vitamin for hairloss.
I get it at Walgreens.
Usually once every 3 or 4 weeks, Walgreens has a buy one get one free.
Walmart and Target also sell it.
Biotin also is very good vitamin for growing hair.
You need to take 5000 MCG, which is 5MG
Calcium Citrate is also very good. .
Calcium Citrate absorbs better in the body then Calcium Carbonate
But you usually have to take 2 Calcium Citrate vitamins to = the Carbonate vitamin.
Usually Calcium Citrate vitamins are 250 MG per Calcium.
Where the Carbonate is 500 to 600MG per calcium.
Get a Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D and Magnesium.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but don't worry about it. Women, in their 20's, 30's, and so on really do dig bald guys. You couldn't convince me of this in my mid 20's, but now I KNOW for a fact that it's true at the old age of 32. I go completely bald and it was the bald look with a cool goatee that landed my current fiancee. ;)

Read about the Hairmax laser brush. This week, Feb. 16, 2007, it was approved by the FDA. Cost is over $500. It's cosmetic so insurance won't help.
My son is 25 and started balding at age 20. Tried everything.
It's genetic.

So does it really work then? Has your son seen benefits?

Boston- Get on Propecia ASAP! Forget the laser combs and all of the homeopathic B.S., it does NOTHING. You need a DHT blocker which is exactly what Propecia is. DHT is the hormone that causes male pattern baldness and it's nasty ! The Rogaine Foam is also a good idea for some added regrowth. The only problem with the Rogaine is that you must apply it twice a day FOREVER. Also, if the Propecia is working for you and the Rogaine isn't, you have no way of knowing which one is working and you'll be stuck on a lifetime Rogaine regimen for no reason. I'd start out with just the Propecia for now (one pill a day is easy). Lastly, do not be fooled by the ridiculous new miracle cures you see advertised everywhere. If they really worked, it would be on the front page of every newspaper in the country and no one would be balding!

Hi,
My husband had an experience with his hairline receding a few years ago. He had switched to soy milk instead of cow's milk thinking that it would be healthier. Between coffee and cereal, he was consuming quite a bit each day. Over the weeks, he gained 20lbs and we noticed his hair was receding. We figured it was genetics until for some reason he switched back to cow's milk and within 3 weeks he was back to his normal weight and his hair line stopped thinning. His hair re-grew over several months of being off the soy. In hindsight, we think that since soy is high in estrogen that maybe it unbalanced his hormones.
This may be a long-shot for your case, but I thought I would mention it.
Also, there was a part of me that was excited about kissing a smooth, bald head. As stated in an earlier post, many woman find a smooth head very pleasant.

First of all, take comfort in knowing you are now alone. I read that 80% of men suffer hair loss. Now I am 21 and I'm worried about my hairloss. I've done some research, watched some online webcasts and read some articles. Here's what I've began doing:
I drink a cup of herbal tea every day. It's half a table-spoon of Burdock Root, half a table-spoon of Dandilion Root and a little bit of Licorice root (the spelling might not be right for all of these so do a google search). This tea is for the kidney's, basically, a clean set of kidneys insures a healthy flow of nutrients to the hair. Before embarking on a healthy hair diet, it's probably best making sure you're going to be getting the best from those nutrients.
I take a a Zinc table, a Cod Liver Oil table and a Fish Oil Table every day. There are good for general health but also are known to promote healthy cells (including the one's on your head!). I read that something like 60% of people don't enough zink. I'm also thinking about taking an iron table. These captules are available at your local chemist or even supermarket.
I purchased the HairMax LaserComb (Before it was FDA approved). I've been using it for about a month or two. I'm not sure if I've noticed any difference, but again, it has been only a month or two. If you buy one, read the instructions. I've read reports of people using it, but not doing it fully correctly. In short, use if on a clean scalp (perhaps after you wash your hair), make sure you're leaving it on one spot for 4 seconds before moving it a half-inch. They say it should take 10-15 minutes, but going by their instructions, it usually takes me 20-25 minutes to get full-head coverage.
I'm also thinking about taking Propecia. I'm a bit nervous about actually asking my doctor about this, I know I shouldn't be, but it can quite embarrassing I guess. I know a website that sells it (quite a few actually) so I might get it there.
Comments like Skinamarinka's always provide comfort for me though, maybe it's not as bad as the majority of men think.

I dont know if your receding hair is the same as what I experienced but I would like to share what I have experienced and hope it might help. I am 6o yrs old and have had prostate problems (too large)for some time ( I think it may be due to my extreme mountian biking aggraviting the prostate). My dr. put me on flomax which helps urination but dosent reduce the prostate but i wanted to reduce the prostate size . so i researched saw palmetto and decided to start using it on 1/1/07. I take about 1000 mg a day. After about a month I noticed little hairs sprouting on the front of my head where it had been totally bare for a long time. As the days and weeks past i have been experiencing more and more hair regrowth it areas of my head that have been bald for years. I am totally sensitive to my hair loss and have tried the laser comb, rogaine, vitimans, etc for years and they all did nothing. It has been 2 months now and I am amazed at how much fuller my hair feels. MY bald areas have a lot more to regrow but at the rate things are going I am confident i will experience more regrowth and it has totally helped my self esteme. Prior to this I was under the assumption that if the area was bald that the hair would not regrow but this is sure working for me. You are so young I pray that the saw palmetto could work for you. It is really inexpensive and does not have any sexual side effects like Propecia, In fact it has improved my sex drive. immensily. I have ditched the flowmax totally and I am just on the saw palmetto. Good luck and I hope it works.
