View Full Version : 2nd IUI!

Hi everyone! Just a little update. I went in this morning for an ultrasound to check ovulation, since I never did get a distinct positive on my OPK'S last cycle. We decided to also do the OPK'S this cycle as well, just to test their accuracy. I did my first OPK this morning, day 13, and to my surprise I had a very BFP! I tested days 11-17 last cycle, but it ended up being a 36 day cycle, so I waited until the 13th this time. The ultrasound confirmed the OPK, so she went ahead and gave me a HCG shot, and then we go in tomorrow for our 2nd IUI! I think we were too early on our last IUI, so hopefully this one will be successful.
Also, I have a question. Our first IUI fell on the weekend so the nurse practitioner who was on call did the first one. She also did my ultrasound this morning. She has also made the comment that she usually does our RE'S HSG'S. I'm definitely not complaining, because they're both really great, but I was just wondering if it's pretty standard for the RE to not do most of the procedures.

Congrats Black Kat

My center seems to work that way also. I only saw my RE once for consultation and meds and everything since then has been done by nps. I think that it's great, these women are so knowledgable (and more sensitive)and I know that the head REs are monitoring what they are doing because they consult constantly throughout the day. For insurance purposes, I'm sure that your RE wouldn't allow them to operate unsupervised, I wouldn't be alarmed.

HI Black Cat,

What great news about your IUI. I hope this one is it for you! My clinic also works that way. I only have consultations with my RE and all the procedures are nurse practioners.

Thank you everyone for all your support! It's great to be able to talk with other women who understand and can relate. It's also a relief to know that your RE'S office runs the same way.

Kathy
