Hi Reneez,

Welcome to the board! Just to ease your mind a bit the stats are that couples have only have a 20-25% chance of concieving each month and it is only between a window 1 day for some to 5 days at the very most for others, it just depends on the individual. So it would still be too early to tell if your having any IF issues based on what you have told us so far. It is normal to have some leakage after TTC but you should try to remain still for at least 20 minutes stay laying down and don't wash off for at least one hour. I know it's kind of gross but it could help. I have heard that yes having an orgasim does help but only by word of mouth so I am not really sure if that's true. If you have dryness down below you may want to discuss this with your OBGYN they can prescribe something for that. Also, they say that taking robutussin (the cough syrup) can help, as havinf cervical mucus is an imporant part of conception to get the sperm to get where it needs to go. But I would not do anything w/o consulting your OBGYN. Prior to trying you should see OBGYN anyway to make sure your vaccinations are up to date and to start you on prenatal vitamins. Being nutrionally fit can decrease your chances of misccarriage so it is important for you and your husband to take really good care yourselves to decrease the chance of miscarriage. Do you have any other issues that make you concerned as to why you have concieved yet?? Well I wish you lot's of luck and if you any other info you know where to find us :)

Hi Reneez  Welcome!

Three months is not that long of a time, so try not to worry. The average couple only has about a 20% chance of conceiving each month, so it's perfectly natural to sometimes take several months (or even a year) to get pg. Having said that, I can't answer all your questions, but I think I can answer one of them...It's natural for some of the semen to come back out. There are millions of sperm in most of our partners semen, and there's no way every last one of them is going to make the trip 'up there'. So, I don't think you should worry too much about that. Here's what we've been trying: after intercourse, I will put a pillow under my butt (to elevate it) and prop my legs on the head/foot board. I try to stay that way for about 20 minutes, and I don't clean myself off until after the 20 minutes are over. I don't know how much it helps, but I have heard many women suggest this and one of my friends swears it helped her get pg. I don't think it matters whether or not you have an orgasm as long as he does ;) . Of course, that's just my guess. I'm sure some more posters will chime in with their thoughts/advice.

I wish you much success and hope you get pg really soon and don't have to worry about any of this stuff!

Kathy, it looks like we posted about the same time and said a few of the same things. They say great minds think alike... :jester:

Hi Renee

Welcome to the board. I agree that 3 months is short so try not to worry. I do think that you need a slihtly moist environment to help the littles guys swim and you should definitely remain still for the 20 minutes. You want to elevate your hips so that the semen doesn't come back out right away. You may want to check a couple of books on position during intercourse for babymaking, they say that missionary is the best but we're all not that flexible. Also, are you charting your body temp for peaks or using the ovulation predictor test for LH surge? These tell you when you are about to ovulate and then you should time your sex after that. These things can help and the op test is over the counter so it's not that expensive.

Good luck and have fun trying. :p

Hello... I am new to this board as well, Reneez, but I can definately sympathize with you. My husband and I have been trying to conceive our second child for over a year. We had trouble getting pg. the first time, taking us about eight months. Clomid finally worked for me, to help me ovulate, the first time. I was on it for two months and then conceived our daughter, Lilly. She will be three in March and we have been wanting another child for such a long time now. The Clomid isn't working this time and my DR. had to take me off of it because of some side effects that he wasn't comfortable with. I know that it is frustating and terribly disappointing because when you are ready to have a child, you want to become pg. the first month! May I suggest a book that I read.... Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It is a very good book and will give you many tips on how to get pg. and on how to not get pg. when you don't want a baby. Good luck to you! Maybe we both will get pg. soon!
