I've been told I have a rare case of abdomial epilepsy. My spasms/seizures come with absolutely no warning and result in a sharp stabbing pain in my lower left side. The pain is extremely intense but only lasts for 15-30 seconds followed by some unsteadiness in my left arm and leg. I usually fall to the ground. After 2-3 minutes I'm okay and can resume walking. I've quit driving. I'm on 4500mg Keppra and 600mg Carbitrol. My epileptologists Minneapolis and Mayo have never seen a case exactly like mine. The info from the Nat'l Epilepsy Foundation on abdominal epilepsy is old and of no help. I'm anxious to hear from others who may have had similar symptoms. Thanks.
