My husband had a first time seizure few days ago. The emergency room did all the tests and didnot find anything. We still need to do EEG and MRI. The only thing that was strange that happened the night of the seizure was he had some rashes on his body(don't know whether allergies or insect bites) which became worse during the night. After the seizure, all the rashes were gone.

I am terrified. My husband has always been in good health. I know I can get good information from these boards. I am trying to cope with this. Most of our friends have been supportive. But I am getting some problems from few friends who instead of being supportive already question about our stress levels and give us advice on how to lead our lives.

Was he taking vitamin B complex before he seized?

I have a friend whose father has non epileptic seizures with his allergies. HIs are severe and the seizure occurs right after the exposure, though.

DId your husband have blood work in the ER? If so there is an enzyme or hormone, I forget which, that is excreted from the muscles during a seizure. Ask about that. Kind of hard to tell more until he has an EEG and the MRI.

Low blood sugar can also cause events that look like seizures.

Best wishes
