Hi there, I am new to these boards and am looking for some advice about my mom. She is 57 and has had breast cancer twice. Both were "early" and removed. Second time she had radiation. No chemo. This was 5 years ago. She just had her mammogram and had to go back for "magnified" images due to the fact that they found calcifications. She is now going in for a core needle biopsy. I've read that alot of these calcifications can be benign but some can be cancerous. Apparently they can be caused also by scar tissue, lumpectomy, or also radiation. I am hoping for this to be the case. But since she has had this twice, does it mean for sure these are a sign of a third cancer? Has anyone out there had breast cancer and then had these things show up on a mammogram? Please help, I am so worried.
Thanks, Caroline
