Hi, I'm 20 and I have lines on my forehead. At the moment I'm using Olay complete but it makes my face oily ( I have oily skin) and there seems to be no difference in my skins complexion.
I would like to use a better wrinkle cream/moisturiser but I want to know if I start using it now, will it speed up my wrinkles even more?! :/
When's the best age to start using anti ageing creams?
Is there one that helps oil secretion?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

This is a perfect time for you to start. Also, using anti aging products will not induce wrinkles. Most important, stay protected from the sun and use sunscreen every day.:)

It's never too early to start if you ask me. (well, except for babies or something, haha)
I'm 21 and I also used to get lines on my forehead and whatnot... but mainly when I wasn't drinking enough water, washing my face regularly, and mousiturizing... But as soon as I started doing all of that regularly, my skin looks sooooo much better, and the lines are gone.
I personally really like Olay Definity, but it's expensive so I don't buy it right now. I use jojoba oil instead (and sometimes Nivea). Both work great. Olive oil also works fine, if you don't mind using it on your face.
I don't have oily skin so I don't know which products work well for that. But according to the information I've read online about jojoba oil, it's supposed to help control oil production... so that may help.

There are products out there targeted for the 20's age group. They are mostly preventive to keep skin looking younger, but they definitely help with lines that may be there. I'm not sure of any good products.. right now I'm trying to find things that are affordable for myself to use. I really liked the Prevage cream but it is around $100 which is out of budget as a college student who only works part time and loves to shop!

should moisturizer only be used in winter?
i heard somewhere that for people with oily skin, that they don't need to apply any during the summer.
i feel that i would like a set of cleaner, toner and moisturizer from the same company. only that, i want an anti aging moisturizer and the cleanser and toner not. should the cleanser for oily skin be gel?
oh, and how do you use the jojoba oil?
just spread it on face? doesnt that make you oily? is jojoba butter better?
many thanks

Skinceuticals and Cellex-C are good. Pure Vitamin C Serums with low grade acids. :) Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen and moisturizer. :))) I also like Kiss My face Peaches and Cream facial moisturizer with 8% Alpha Hydroxy---it's super YUM and only about 6 dollars a bottle and last a LONG time. :)

It's never too soon to plan ahead for old age;) Start planning also by staying out of the sun and avoid tanning salons too! Because before you know it, you will turn around and be old! It comes too fast!

You should ALWAYS use moisturizer, but you will probably need to switch to a lighter one over the summer if you have oily skin.
If you're willing to spend a bit more money, Este Lauder makes a great preventative aging line since you said you would like to get a set of products.
I've never used the jojoba oil myself but I know that you only need to use a couple drops and massage it into your face.
Now is definitely a good time to start preventing aging...I'm 20 as well and am beginning to look into products as well! I used to work at a Macy's cosmetics department and one of my coworkers started using anti-aging products at the age of 19. She is now in her early 60's and her skin is FLAWLESS!

My skin used to be very oily in high school and I would still wear moisturizer. I would use Clean & Clear's Dual Action Moisturizer.. which is light and treats any acne. I used the oil control one and didn't like it and didn't think it helped.. but the Dual Action seemed to help with my oil. I woudl also carry around the little blue oil absorbing sheets they make (they are life savers for oily skin!). Make sure your makeup also helps with your skin type.. b/c some will just make it look even more oily or make the makeup look cakey.
Usually when my skin is oilier, I like a clear facewash instead of a creamy one. When my skin is feeling dry (like now in the winter) I sometimes switch to a cream face wash. I used a really great gel face wash that does NOT foam by Mario Badescu that I really liked.. but I know you have to order those online.
I've had some ladies tell me to make sure i use all the same brand of face products, but some of my favorite brands don't make all of the products I want! I really like Clean & Clear but they don't make any eye creams besides one brightening one that isn't made to prevent wrinkles.. what do you all think? Do you think it's okay to mix products or do you all recommend not? I wanted to switch to Nivea products because I saw a gel facewash made for normal/dry skin I wanted to dry and I can't find it anymore.. I was out of town and saw it at a grocery store! The same store in my town didn't have it and i can't find it elsewhere YET.

You should use moisturizer all year long. Doesn't matter that your skin is oily, you should protect it with a moisturizer that contains SPF (especially in the summer). I personally don't know of any good ones since I've only tried Clean&Clear and didn't like it at all (though I love their cleansers).
Since I wear makeup with SPF, I don't usually pay attention to SPF in moisturizers... that's why I use regular face creams and lotions like Oil of Olay or Nivea.
Jojoba oil is great; I currently use that or this cream which also contains jojoba oil in it.
I've never seen jojoba butter so I don't know exactly how that works. But the oil that I use comes in a small, 1oz bottle. You basically take a couple of drops and rub it onto your skin. So long as you don't use it excessively, it won't make your face more oily since your skin will absorb it pretty well. Or you can also mix it with any other creme or moisturizer to help fight signs of aging.
Even though it is a type of oil, it doesn't feel greasy to me at all. I've read on multiple websites that it's great for controlling natural oil production since it's very similar to human sebum.
I've also read that it's great for hair, scalp, bruises, cold sores, nails, etcetc.

Hi,
I really think it is too early for you to be using the advanced product, they are too expensive and might be too harsh for young skin (I've read that wrinkle creams actually may thin skin and it's much too early for you to be doing that), but there are a number of things you should be doing now to keep your entire body as young looking, for as long, as possible.
You should be exercising regularly.
You should be following a smart, healthy diet, rich in vitamins and poor in empty carbs.
You should never go outside, even on a cloudy day, without sunscreen.
Use only healthy makeup, cleansers and lotions rich in anti-oxidents .
Do these things for yourself and you will not have to worry about these issues until later and when you finally do, your problems will be smaller.

First off, I'm an esthetic student at a beauty school, so I have textbooks to back up what I'm going to be saying here.:) So, bascially, skin care will be my job when I graduate and what not. Here goes:
No, technically it isn't too early to use these products, but, it depends on what kind you're using. Alpha hydroxy based products aren't bad, but they can contraindicate other products you might be using on your face. Since you have oily skin, you should be using a cleanser that is clear, meaning it doesn't look like a cream. Ones that are designed for oily skin will help take care of that. Also, you should be exfoliating your skin, that actually can help with the lines. Then, you want to find a lightweight moisturizer, like Clean and Clear's Oxygenating Moisturizer. That's what I use and I have no problems with it. Using a moisturizer helps balance out your skin's oil/water content and it also acts as a barrier between your skin and make-up, if you wear any. Also make sure it has an SPF of at least 15 in it.
Why you may be having problems with the Oil of Olay is that it has an oil base to it and that makes your skin even more oily because you're putting more oil onto it. Oil of Olay products are designed for people with mature skin, and they need that extra oil, but since you're so young you don't need it. It's best to stay away from oil based products at your age!
I hope I cleared some things up, but if you need any further information, feel free to ask!

Im 23, soon to be 24 and I use these products all the time. I also heard from a lady who looked great for her age when I was around 17 that she started using them at a very young age. She told me it was never to early to start.
