Does the Topamax help with menstrual migraines as well? Or are we just doomed to get them no matter what we take? I feel like mine are like a big semi truck with no brakes. I upped my Propranolol to 40 mg's per day and still got a whammy right when I started my period.

As I've said from my other posts, I've only started about 3 weeks ago but I seem to be doomed no matter what during that time of the month. However, topamax makes it a lot less severe and I take maxalt mlt 10mg for the pain and that seems to help a lot. Remember, topamax doesn't totally eliminate headaches, it reduced the frequencey and severity.

Topamax helps!! Wait and see. My monthly migraines used to be severe before I started taking Topamax. I also suffer from bad cramps, and take
800mg of Motrin before I get my period. Drink lots of water with Topamax, and if you get tingling in your fingers and toes, take 500mg of vitamin C per day.
