Hi all - went to the dr on Thursday. Am 11 weeks post-op Lapidus bunionectomy with 1st metatarsul fusion and second toe shortened. He said I can do whatever I want just to start slowly. I can return to the gym but no incline on the treadmill and no leg presses yet. I can wear whatever shoes feel comfortable.
During recovery I was getting so discouraged because progress was slow but at the "magic" 8 week mark things moved quickly. So everyone in recovery process, please try not to get discouraged. Things do get better.
My only problem now is on New Year's Day I had a little "accident" with hot water and coffee grounds and I burned my left arm pretty bad and got a tiny burn blister on the top of the big toe of the foot that was just operated on (couldn't be my "good" foot). Dr said it didn't look too bad but to try and keep pressure off the toe during healing.
Hope everyone has a great "New Year" and quick recoveries.
