Are there any teenagers out there who are hearing impaired? I've never really talked to people my age who are hearing impaired; I'm from a very small retirement town. I've searched online and there seems to be little support for people my age who have hearing loss. I've just gotten [another, ugh] ear infection and I'm dreading the pain of putting eardroms in and having them drip through my perforated eardrum, which usually leaves me in pain for a few hours (hence the user-name ihed: i hate ear drops). It'd just be nice to know there are others like me out there. I'm 16 years old and I've had mild-moderate hearing loss since my eardrums burst when I was 1 and 2 years old. I'm doing well in school and am deeply involved in music, but on occasion these are overshadowed by my constant (but admittedly somewhat irrational) fear of one day ending up deaf and unable to do the things I love.

not a teen, but i've had a problem w/ my e-tubes since high-school. It's not hearing related, but it does succeed in making me miserable (feel like I have air blowing through my e-tubes, and I can "hear" my voice in my ear).
The message boards are a good place to go for these rare problems. If you look around, there are a lot of unusual conditions out there, so it's nice to know we're not suffering alone (misery loves company!).
