So One of the brands out there ( name???) offers the eye shadow color compacts that bring your eyes out based on your eye color. What happens when you don't FIT into any of them???????
Okay, I grew up blue eyed-I always had a little bronze around my pupil. Well, now, as I got older (in the past five years-I am 29) my eye color actually CHANGED and it is more gray/green. I have hazel on my license, but that would be more green/brown. I border this odd coloring-with bluer tinge when I wear blue, very green with green and the grayer in between. It is awfully strange. I still have the bronze around my pupil too.
SO-Anyone have ideas of a color scheme for day/night that would better bring out my eyes?? I have ash brown/blonde hair (darker now w/winter, I go blonde in the su mmer when I am TAN). My eye brows are pretty darn dark though-anyway-anything you can pass my way will be great!!

My boyfriend's eyes are kind of like yours.. green is the main color but they can change bluish and gray sometimes too.
Almay is the brand that makes those eye makeups for eye colors. I would suggest that maybe you buy several different colors and just experiment. You can always get inexpensive things first. You can probably also pick what colors you want to bring out in your eyes.. purple makeup will bring out the green I know.. but I'm not too sure about the other colors. I have brown eyes and the kit I have has pink, tan, and peach. It works fine but I prefer using other eye shadows anyway! Silver colors should look good on you too.. I think you could get away with most colors but I wouldn't choose colors that match your eye color exactly. Blue can bring out the blue more though. I've seen some girls with blue eyes wear navy blue eyeliner and it made them look even brighter.
To make your eyes really stand out, you can always line with them some Kohl eyeliner and use some black mascara.. lighter eyes really stand out when lined in a dark color. Good luck and have fun!

THANK YOU :) I do love makeup and I love the fact I have a digital camera bc I can take a pic and instantly see exactly what the makeup (and hair) look like!
I did a bronze color and it actually made me look tired-didn't bring out that bronze ring like I had hoped. I haven't tried purple-I guess I am not sure if you can wear it with whatever you want. Where I work I wear uniforms and they can be colorful. I wouldn't want purple if wearing say red or browns-I don't know. Maybe I can head over to the clinique counter on sat and have them just give me a ton of ideas and different looks to suit my mood.
again, thank you!

Good luck! I actually have a very light shimmery lavender purple that is really nice and goes well with most things I wear since it isn't bright at all. A color like that is very wearable! I have the Maybelline Roller Color kind but I'm not sure what the name of it is.. but it's nice with a bit of shimmer but blends really well. Bronze seems to not work too well for me either.. a light gold comes out nicer for me.. I guess bronze can be a tricky color!

I have the same colour eyes as you and I like to wear taupe. I think it brings out my eyes and enhances the color no matter what color they are that day.

My eyes are different colors. Green with a tinge of gold and blue rim around it. To bring out the green in your eyes, lavender, purple works well. If your fair skinned, lavender would work with a slightly darker purple in the crease. Medium, olive/yellow skin tones would suit darker shades of purple. Peach and brown also bring out the blue in eyes. There are varying shades in each color group, browns, purples, peaches etc so there will be one that works for you. I use drugstore and dept store makeup. One place to test things out is MAC cosmetics, pricier compared to drugstore, but they have testers and you can get some ideas from the makeup artistd there. Hope this helps!

I bought the Almay stuff. The purple/green set. I also bought the bronze eyeliner and mascara that goes with it. The eyeshadow does not stay on long by itself. I had to wear some stay put loreal stuff underneath. The eyeliner and mascara were allright for a while but then they got chunky.
MAC stores are great! I just recently started wearing their make-up. I have turquoise/green/blue eyes. It depends on the day. I have gold flecks which make them change. I have found that all shades of pinks and purples work great. There is an eyeliner that they sell called fluidline. It comes in a little pot and you put in on with a small angled brush. I have fluidline colors:
Shade - which is a dark teal
Ostentatious - Which is a brown with green flecks - It might me discontinued though. They do have another brown but I'm not sure what it's called.
The eyeshadow colors I use are:
phloof - for the browline
petalescent - for the eyelid
stars and rockets - for the edge
Both really brighten up my eye colors.
They have all of their colors on their website. I wish I could post the pictures here for you.
The people that work there are really helpful for the most part.
It's expensive (for me anyway) so I had to buy two eyeshadows then the next pay day I bought two eyeliners and so on.
Take Care,
Nodi

I think the prettiest eye color for green or blue eyes is MAC eye shadow in Sketch...it's like an eggplant color...I love it!

WOW-you all have given me some great ideas. I was drawn to a nice purply color at Clinique that I may just go ahead and get. Pinks do look nice on me as well as the taupe. So, I am on the right track. Thank you!
Now, how about eyeliner??? :)
Black is too much-maybe I should try a khaki or olive green?/purple even?

I love Sketch! My friend has it and it's awesome on her green eyes.
For eyeliner I would think you could do any color in the brown/green/purple families.

I am in the same situation, my eyes are blue, but look gray most of the time. I find that any taupe colors, or bronzing colors look best w/my eyes. Try it. I love Covergirl(i think) eye stick called Chill the Champagne, Covergirl shadow in MINK, MAC in JEST, MAC Shadestick in Shimmersand.....Hope this helps you.

well ur eyes sounds exacly like my eyes, good thing is, everyone loves em so ur in luck;) lol what i use is a light shimmery chamagne color on my brow bone just to high light it and depending what im doing ill either do a rose or a brown. a lighter color on my lid and a darker color in, and then shading up in the crease of my eye. i tend to use this really nice shimmery rich chocolate color i got just cause it looks so good when i put it on, the colors amazing! but basicly stick with ur color groups browns and taupes, roses and pinks, u shud be fine, u can always experiment see what u like best. then i use a black (u dont have to use black but i like black) eyeliner sumtimes go over it with black eyeshadow if i want it dark yet soft, liquid liner if i want it dark and a super exact line. then finish with black mascara. i wouldnt go too crazy with ur colors tho, its best to keep things classic for an everyday look.
