This past week....I thought my filling came out....so I made an appt. with the dentist for tomorrow....I just happend to look at the tooth yesterday and realized that its cracked....but not all the way up.....what the heck happened....the only thing I can think of is i was told that I grind my teeth....what will the dentist do????

first thing he should do is take an x-ray to see how far the fracture goes and if there is any decay present. It's possible he may recommend a crown. In the meantime, be very careful about biting hard foods. Chew on the other side of your mouth and whatever you do, don't crunch ice! That is one of the most common causes of cracked fillings and teeth. Keep me posted on what he says!
