:) :) i went to the dr today and had an xray and my toe fusion looks like it worked! the bones are still healing, but i can now bear weight on my foot. the problem is my foot is still so swollen, i cant even put half my foot into a sneaker. i will buy bigger sneakers, but what happens to my good foot? how long do you think it takes for swelling to go away? has anyone had to buy bigger shoes for good? i have alot of questions, but i am so happy today. dr. said no physical therapy becuase i do exercises at home. thanks for all your answes and i am so happy to have this board. i go back to the dr in 4 weeks. debbie g

Debbie - what wonderful news. I know how "wierd" it feels to start walking again. Hopefully your swelling will resolve quickly. My foot swelling isn't too bad but my ankle still swells.
I went back to the gym for the first time today and that felt great. I can't wait to get back into my routine.
Continued good health to you.
