Hi Everyone,
I Am New Here And Desperate For Information. I Recently Recieved An Abnormal Pap Test Showing "a-typical Glandular Cells". My Dr Did A D&c And A Cone Biopsy On 1/5/07. I Am Doing Fine, But Have Tried To Educate Myself By Reading Many Pages In The Internet About These Cells. I Am So Upset As What I Read Sounds Very Bad. It Sounds As If These Cells Are So Rare They Are Only Found In .02% Of All Paps And Can Mean Cancer On The Glandular Level In Other Parts Of The Body. Does Anyone Know Anything? Also How Soon After D&c And Cone Can I Return To Work? I Am Fine, No Bleeding At All. It Is 5 Days Since I Had It Done. Thanks So Much And God Bless All Of You.

I had the same diag in Oct .:dizzy: Just had repeat pap today waiting for results. I just posted in the cervical section . I have read as much as I can and I guess we have to stay on top of whats going on . My dr said if eveything come back ok with this pap then he still wants to do a biopsy of my uterus to make sure we're not missing anything. this diag is not treated the same as ASCUS. With AGUS they want to be very sure they're not missing anything so the wait and see approach is out. Let me know how your doing.
take care

Hi Redzie, I was just diagnosed with the same atypical glandularcells, after a routine pap smear. I have no symptoms, no bleeding, am not over weight, I don't have high blood pressure( all risk factors, I hear) I am going for biopsy Wednesday and of course am scared. This was a shock. I am 52 ...53 on Monday..Happy Birthday, right?? I read the same things about this thing, the more you read, the worse it sounds! I also was on the pill for years, which I heard lowers your risk, any words of encouragement or any info is appreciated by anyone.. thanks

Hi,
I Will Say A Prayer For You. What Kind Of Biopsy Are You Having? I Had A Cone And The D And C And I Was So Happy Both Were Negitive. I Was Totally Convinced I Was Dying. But...i Am Still Not Out Of The Dark. I Was Told I Must Have 2 Or 3 More Normal Paps. I Worry I Could Have Something And Not Know. I Read So Much That With A Typical Glandular Cells The Cancer Can Be In Another Part Of The Body. What Does Your Dr Say? I Go Tomorrow For My Surgery Date To Remove An Ovarian Cyst. I Am Praying When They Go In They Dont Find Anything Else. I Am A Nervous Wreak. I Try To Not Think Of It, But It Is Always In My Mind. Lets Keep In Touch.
God Bless You...
Redzie
