I had a clear chlamydia 12 days after sex and a swab for gonorrhea 19 days after. I then had a blood test for HIV & syhallis at 6 weeks. All negative but me being a total worrier I am going to the GUM clinic tomorrow morning. I am so so worried and anxious. I suffer from health anxiety so tomorrow is going to be a very difficult day for me.

I am petrified I will have an std or HIV:-(:confused: I hope my dr was right and that at 6 weeks because it was negative then I am safe. It has been almost 13 weeks now (in 3 more days). I have to wait a week for the results. Its going to be an awful wait.

Please someone make me think positive.

Take a peek at the thread I wrote regarding hiv/aids reversal. In my opinion, when this treatement is followed, hiv will be nothing more than a manageable chronic disease.

I am far, far, very far from being Cavalier, and that's really the sad thing about message boards, and typing to people in text format as it's often difficult to ascertain someone's true feelings/intentions. Trust me, if I didn't care about people living with HIV, I wouldn't be wasting my time on this message board. I have given support and encouragement to others on this forum, so don't be so hasty to judge me in that way.

Essica, I have been through what you are feeling, and have had a short term relationship with a woman without using protection. A few months later I had an HIV test and at that time I was feeling as nervous as perhaps you do but in the end it turned out everything was fine. The reason I pointed you to the thread that I posted was to give you hope. It's my desire that you can take at least that much away from my previous reply.

Cflas thanks so much. I went today and all went well, the dr & nurse said that 75% of people who have HIV test positive by 4-6 weeks so they said my dr was probably right that a 6 week test being negative was accurate. They also agreed that my swabs were done the right time. They said testing now at 13 weeks will give me an acurate result and it will give me closure. I will be happy and believe in the results. I just pray they are negative as I cannot live my life with any more anxiety and stress.

Forgot to add I don't get my results for another 8 days:rolleyes: but I am feeling alot happier and confident now I have been.
