I had unprotected oral sex and sexual contact (not penetration) with a high risk male two weeks ago. Now I have raised lymph nodes, a sore throat and fever. I am very concerned and hope that someone may be able help me. The man I slept with is in the Royal Marines, do they get tested for HIV regularly? I've been on their website and they say marines have to be disease free but am nt sure what that entails. Please, if anyone has any advice that would be great, I know no test will be useful until three months have passed...Thanks.

Did he ejaculate or how long was the exposure? Well you never know one's status. But the important thing to do right now is take care of yourself so you can get well. Try not to worry too much. Know if you make it out of this pos. or neg. that we must be more viligant in our sexual encounters. I may not be the perfect person to give you advise but I can honestly say that I know exactly the thoughts and concerns that run through your head right now, and only a test will be able to give you the answer you need.

I myself have had possible exposure with a pos. person. I will be getting tested this fri. I'll keep you posted on my results and if I am neg. then that may give you hope to go on while you wait to be tested. The fact is that many people are living with this disease so it is really not the end of the world even if we test pos. So take care of yourself. And keep us posted and I'll do the same. God bless.

Hi Lefbvre, my friend got out of the service last year and he said they test them for hiv when they first get there. Then they test them every year and they have exit tests for hiv everything when they leave the service. I didn't belive this guy, but he showed me the paper work.I hope this helps.
