Does the green tint in make-up products really neutralize red marks, or is it a false claim?

I use a green concealer on blemishes and blemish scars. It does seem to help neutralize the red somewhat. You have to be careful how much you use though, because if you apply it too heavily it can look a funny bruised color. Once in a while I put on the green first, then on top of that a natural color concealer.

I use one that is applied with a brush, I prefer that to a stick.

I swear, everytime I use geen, it shows through and I can see it under the foundation. I had to give up on colored concealer.

I guess you have to be careful with it! I have tried one by Physicians Formula in the past and it seemed to work okay.. but I didn't really like the stick kind.

Benefit makes a yellow powder called Bluff Dust or something like that.. it's supposed to minimize pink or red tones that are all over the face. I tried it out and it seemed to work pretty well. I think I look better with a golden skin tone rather than a pinkish one so it worked well for doing this.

I every kind I have used has looked funny - even when used lightly
Btw, I have fair - medium skin

I use the yellow version that Physician's Formula makes and LOVE it! I don't know about green. I use the yellow concealer on my eyelids (very lightly) as well before I apply my make-up. Forms a nice base to apply shadow to, keeps it from fading, and evens out the skin tone around the eyes.

I used the green concealer once in 7th grade, and I guess I didn't do it right because you could see the green. Anyways, a boy in my class made fun of me in front of everyone, calling me hulk.. so yeah.. I won't use that stuff again lol

I wouldn't use the stick kind either, as everyone else suggested. It's too sticky and shows more than powder. I guess if you have a lot of red or makrs to cover up, green is okay if you use it lightly under your other makeup. Make sure you blend it well so it's not obvious.

But if you don't have a lot to cover up, I would go for the yellow as suggested by twiceblessed. Yellow will probably work better and won't be as obvious even if you don't blend it perfectly.

I would go with the yellow.. sounds like a lot of others recommend it too! It can get pinkish, reddish tones out just fine. When I did use the green concealer stick I actually just put it on a pimple and blended it VERY well.. so it was barely there.. it actually didn't cover as much as I wanted! So I think the green ones are better for spots and not entire sections.. the color may just show up that way! The yellow is better to use in larger sections and works to cover up under eye circles too!
