I can relate to that. I think my name should be Mrs Moan!
It is nothing more than a pattern of behaviour you have got into. And yes, it is very hard to get out of, but it can be done. Write down ALL your whines and moans, then ask yourself - 'is this a fact about life/me, or just another one of my whines'. Once you've figured out which it is, tell yourself STOP IT. For every whine you write down, you could propbably come up with 2/3 positive things in your life. Good luck.

Pops, people used to tell me that I was a whiner too sometimes. I always thought that it was just because I was so miserable. I completely therapy and fixed my issues and now I am very happy and I don't whine anymore. What is it about your life that you don't like?

What happened three years ago to start this kind of behavior? Something you can do that might help is exaggerate these behaviors. If you are whining at, say a level 5, crank it up to a level 8! There are two reasons for this. First, by magnifying it, it will help you see it more clearly. It actually might even make it look funny, in a ridiculous kind of way. The other reason is that if you can increase the magnitude of your whining, you can then also decrease it. You will have some control over it. When I use to hitchike around the country, if I ever found myself on a stretch of road where I just wasn't getting a ride in the direction I wanted to go, I would go across the street and try to get a ride in the other direction, which often worked. Then, from a totally different location, I would reverse and again head in the direction I wanted to go, and that often worked too.
