Are these nuts okay to give to autistic children. I have not seen must impact of them on my son but want to be sure. BTW my son loves cashews.

Unless he has a nut allergy, I can't see anything wrong with the nuts. Lots of protien and healthy fats.

Ok if not nut-allergic, however, wisdom says not to overdo. Nuts are high in natural glutamates. In excess, glutamates can harm brain cells.
On the other hand, nuts are good sources of minerals like zinc, that our kids are often deficient in. If you suspect there is an aspect of 'craving' to your son's enjoyment of nuts, you might ck. that he is getting adequate zinc elsewhere in his diet and/or supplements.
I provide my teenaged son w/PDD-NOS with cashews & peanuts on a regular basis. IMO these nuts are a much healthier & more nourishing snack than say, Frito-Lay products.
Best wishes.

Thanks for the replies, that helped. We do limit the nuts to a max of 5 - 10 in a day. He does not seem to be affected much by it..like he would for wheat or milk.
