My daughter is 4 1/2 yrs old was breastfed, had colic, very fussy baby at 1 1/2 was hospitalized for four days with the Norwalk virus since then anywhere from once a day to ten times a month my daughter will spike a fever above 101 degrees..complains about her stomach being in pain occasionally she will vomit but not always and sometimes she will get diarrhea but again not every time, she's also usually tired when shes having these issues. The dr put her on amitriptiline to control her tummy spasms shes also on a antacid (they don't help) we have been to the doctors and hospitals they have done blood tests urine tests stool samples they really don't know what the issue is. I finally got an appt with a pediatric GI Dr for the 17th. Till then we suffer with her screaming about how much pain she is in. It's not her appendix she complains the pain comes from her lower right abdomen when the dr's feel her tummy it's soft, shes not constipated she doesn't have regular bowel movements everyday she has one like every other day. I'm really at my wits ends  I feel so bad for my daughter when she is hurting like this. The last hospital visit was Saturday evening 3 different ER doctors examined and felt my daughters stomach and the only thing they could really think was that maybe she had a tear/hole in her intestines or she has a messed up immune system. What do you think?

Hi,
I would definitely get her on some probiotics to make sure her intestines and gut are healthy. Be sure to use one that is formulated for children her age. I also use homeopathic remedies, you will have to figure out which ones to use based on her symptoms. Boiron and Hylands both work well. You may also want to research Oreganol oil, it is a potent anti-viral and anti-bacterial. If she is unable to eat foods high in fiber, magnesium powder is relaxing as well as promotes regularity. Lastly, enzymes may also help her stomach. Garden of Life's Omegazyme is a good one.
Best wishes.
