I have noticed in the past few months I have gotten a numerous amount of white spots on my chest/neck area near cleavage. It is now getting bad enough where friends are asking me what are those spots on your neck area. They don't itch, they are not scaly or textured in anyway. Anyone know what these maybe and are they seroius. I get them on my arms too. Sun Spots??

Thanks

Hey I have the same thing on my belly back and chest. Its called tinea versicolor. Its a fungus.I went to the dermatologist and they gave me a selenium sulfide lotion and shampoo to use.Dont worry this is not serious.Just go to your doctor to get it cured because it will not go away on its own.

It could also be vitiligo. I would go to the derm soon just to make sure and it give yourself some peace of mind. Take care

I got my lotion from the derm and I couldnt find the shapoo(body wash) so I just bought selsun blue because alot of people use that.I just use it as a body wash a leave on for 10 minutes then rinse off.dont wash your face or privates with this.

I have had the same problem with a diagnosis of tinea versicolor. The treatment did not work and I have not yet found a cure.

Hi, I have had this awful infliction for years. Started off on my shoulders, then my arms and legs, horrible and I thought there was no cure/fix for this. I went to a dermatologist and it was told to me that it was sun damage, nothing could be done. So I covered it up for years with fake tan. About 2 years ago by chance I had an appointment with an Acupuncturist because of a chest infection. I mentioned these spots and she said no problem, they can be fixed. It has taken 2 years and I have to say I love my skin now. The spots have faded brilliantly, I feel so much better. So my advise is if you want rid of these got to a Good Acupuncturist and this can be fixed. I really believed that this was my destiny, fake tan and white spots forever. Thankfully its not. Good Luck

Ok so here is my update months later... I used that hair shampoo Selsun Blue. I washed and scrubbed that area where my white spots were..sure enough they all have vanished!! Now the did not go away right away I had to go in the sun to get some color in them but now they are pretty much gone. HOWEVER, I did once leave the selsun blue on too long and had serious red burn..it went away but just warning you do not leave on longer than a few minutes.
