View Full Version : Is this normal?

If you stand about 2 feet away from a wall and fix your eyes on one spot, close one eye and run your finger along the wall on the same side as your open eye, is your finger meant to dissappear at some point and then re-appear, a few inches from the spot you have your eyes fixed on? This happens with both my eyes and i'm sure i read somewhere that it was a normal thing to happen. I'm going for an eye test soon and wondered whether to mention this. But i think it's a co-incidence that it happens with both eyes in exactly the same place.

It's nice to be able to give an answer that you know is correct on this board. Yes, the blind spots are normal. There's a blind spot in each eye where the optic nerve enters the back of the eye--to the right of centre in your right eye, left of centre in your left eye.

Oh, thank goodness for that. I thought i was going blind. I'm still gonna go and get my eyes checked though, as it's been years since i went.

Thank you. :)
