I was diagnosed with Innapropriate Sinus Tachycardia almost a year ago. I was on meds for a while but was able to be "attack" free for about 8 months and was released from the meds. This past week I have had two attacks and it's making me worry that it's all coming back again. But I wanted to ask if anyone else feels "out of it", hot and like they need to go to the bathroom when they get a paplitation? These last two haven't lasted long, maybe a minute but I know they are coming because I start sweating, feeling kinda panicy and get the feeling that I need to go to the bathroom imediately.

Hi Karen. When you say "attacks", what do you mean? I think we have talked before on here. I was on beta blockers for my sinus tachycardia (I guess it was IST) but when I quit the bc pill my heart rate started going lower and when I quit smoking it got even lower, so I don't take them anymore. Lately my heart has been real low most of the time like in the 50s, but I still get tachy in the morning (and at other random times also). I also feel very hot and panicy. I don't know if anxiety is causing the tachy, or vice versa. I mean, this happens EVERY DAY...even on the weekends when I can sleep in and get up when I want to and have absolutely NOTHING to be anxious about. I don't know what is going on with me anymore. I am a total mess. And just because I have anixety problems, no one will listen to me and take me seriously. My PCP thinks I have SSS. I posted about that the other day and no one has responded. Anyway, let me know what these "attacks" of yours are.

By attacks I mean the palpitations. See, I don't have them constant anymore. My heart rate tends to be little higher in the morning, but I don't have the other side effects in the am. I guess I call them attacks because they are sudden, intense and don't really last that long but leave me feeling crapy for hours afterward. And if they happen in the middle of the night I usually don't sleep much the rest of the night. How do you tell the difference between anxiety attacks and the Tachy?

Sometimes I have some palpitations that really bother me. I was actually having some on the way to work today. I was feeling nauseated and just yucky while this was going on.
When I have an anxiety attack, I usually have more symptoms than just tachycardia. I feel nervous, like something is going on with my stomach. Sometimes I get shaky. My morning tachycardia is just that...a fast heart rate and usually no other symptoms. But then usually when I get in my car to come to work is when my heart rate slows down and then I get the palps, or PVCs or whatever they are. This morning they were extremely forceful. That drives me absolutely crazy! I just had another one right now. I'm with you...it is pretty scary.
When you say your heart rate is higher in the morning, do you know how high? Mine is usually in the 50s when I am laying in bed after I wake up. Within a minute of getting out of bed and moving around it goes up to at least 100 and sometimes more. It gradually comes back down throughout the morning and by the time I get to work it is around 60 (or lower). I don't know if this happens to everyone, and maybe I just pay more attention to it than most people??? It really scares me. I'm just so sick and tired of worrying about this stuff. I just want to be like normal people and not pay attention to what my heart is doing.

I was diagnosed with IST in November. I have attack all though the day or night. Anything triggers it, exertion, stress, anxiety, sugar, caffine. Most days I have attacks about once everyhour but my heart rate remains high in between. I feel tired, sick, dizzy, really dazed and get really bad chest pains. I have tried numerous drugs and none of them work so I will be having sinus node ablation in around 10 weeks time.

Hey there...I started getting those weird palpatation since my early twenties...they last about a minute but they really scare me...my heart rate gets a little faster...and I also feel like I have to go to the bathroom...my heart feels like it goes into another rhythm...is that what your heart feels like?
I seem to get them around my period...after both my pregnanies...and after i took birth control pills...do u think it's hormonal related? the only time i didn't get them was when i was pregnant...i wonder if that was because my hormones were balanced or something...
