Hi all! My dad has PD and is a good candidate for the Deep Brain Stimulation. However, he is also having some MAJOR back problems. He's undergone several surgeries and they are now considering implanting a wire down his leg to interupt the pain signal going down the sciatic nerve. My question is will this implant have any affect on the deep brain stimulation for the PD if/when he decides to proceed with it? We have asked his Pain Management dr, and he doesn't know. We've also asked his PD dr, and he said he doesn't think so, but will research it and get back to us. However, we all know how many dr's aren't good at calling back with info, and this guy is sooo hard to get in touch with outside of an appointment. Any thoughts, advice &/or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
