View Full Version : Can you bend your toe after surgery for a hammertoe?

As I said in a prior post, I had foot surgery on December 27th for capsulitis (bottom of my foot was swollen and painful). The procedure was called a Wiel osteotomy, along with the toe-straigtening surgery. An acquaintance told me today that she had had bunion surgery (which I too have had) and surgery for hammertoes and that now she cannot bend those toes. The toes move, but don't bend--they're permanently straight. :( She said it doesn't really bother her any more, but it orginally felt very strange.

Any feedback from anyone?

Thanks so much!
Polly
