I've recently been away on holiday to the beach for two weeks. The funny thing was that while I was away I had no anxiety and then the day after I got home it returned. Has anyone else found this has been the case with them??

yes because life is too stressful in North America in comparison to Europe or South America

I experianced this when my anxiety wasn't at it's peak. I think it's just being taken out of your everyday routine.

its because youve got no association with panic or fear also the beach is such a relaxing place to be.i went on holiday and was fine whilst there,i was having a good patch though and then got home and the next week was awful, its as though it had all caught up with me what id achieved.as for europe not being as stressful as america well parts of europe are more relaxed but england is very stressful.

I always find the ocean to be a very healing place. I can't really tell you why, but just the salt water and the sun. It all seems to combine with relaxation to create almost the perfect scenario of comfort for me. I am not going to lie though, holidays for me aren't time on the beach, so mine were much more stressful than regular life. I do enjoy time on the beach though. I wish I were closer so I could enjoy it more than a couple times a year.

Yeah I agree. The beach and the sun combined can seem to heal anything. I went on vacation to the Caribbean during Xmas and was fine there too. I think it has something to do with the sun light, which helps with our mood and body. People tend to get more depressed in the winter, and it is due to the lack of strong sun light.

I found myself "recharged" when I was on the vacation. I was happy and energetic. So I kept, or at least tried my best to keep being optimistic when I got back, and it really helped with my anxiety! I think the key thing is that we have to be positive and force ourselves to ignore our anxious mind and move on with our normal life.
