I have a few questions if anyone has some answers. it would be very helpful.
Wondering if anyone on here was ever diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri (fluid around brain causing pressure on brain) then had seizure activity???

I had a different type of episode and wondering if anyone has had this before?
I awoke in the middle of the night, I was grinding my teeth really hard. I felt like electric waves were going through my head. I could hear the buzzing and everything. I felt like my head was moving to the waves. I tried to stop grinding my teeth and could not. Finally, about three minutes later it stopped. Then about 5 minutes later it started up again, same thing. Could not stop grinding my teeth, felt like electricity going through my head only. I had two nights of these about 1 month apart. It really freaked me out, I could not control it. Just like a seizure. But when i normally have a seizure I do not remember what happens during them, just the fear, aura's, strange feeling before and confusion after.
My neuro says that it is not a seizure because the activity was different from the seizure I have. Any ideas??
One more question. How do you deal with the seizure activity if you are a single mom of an 11 year old. How do you explain it to them without scaring them. My daughter knows very little about it because I am not sure how much to say.
Thanks
Felicia

Felicia03,

I am not sure at all what those episodes were. I personally have never felt that nor have ever even heard of such a thing. I am sorry dear! I wish I could help in that aspect. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Just one question about that though...Did these episodes happen right around your period?

I too have an 11 year old daughter. She is one of the highlights of my life. I have 3 kids and she is the middle child. She knows all about every part of the epilepsy. I just sat down and explained it all to all of the kids. I feel that if they know all of it then they won't be scared. I did tell them thruout the explination that this is not life threatening(sp?) and that I will live for a long long time if this is the only thing that I have to encounter in my life. They are a little bit scared but I guess when you think about it so are we and we are the ones who don't "see" it. The sight of that must be frightning. It scares grown men and women every day. They all are very good with it. I also told them everything so that if they are ever alone with me and something should go wrong then they know what to do or what to tell the paramedics. I feel that will not only benefit me but them also.

No, I am not a single parent so I am sure that helps but Dad works an hour away for the Sheriffs office and they are home alone with me quite a bit so at times it does feel like I am a single parent.

I hope this helps sweetie. Please let me know how things are going and if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless,
KittyMom
