There are alot of people that post on this anxiety board, that take medications such as zyprexa and seroquel which are antipsychotics. Are MD's now prescribing antipsychotics for anxiety, or do these people take these medications, because they have have a more severe disorder. I did'nt think psychosis and anxiety disorders, went hand in hand like that, as to where you could use the same medication to treat both. If my doc prescribed an antipsychotic for me it would make my anxiety worse because I would think that my doc thought that I had something more serious. Please reply, I'am confused as to why some people with anxiety, get put on that strong of a med.

needabreak1532,
Nobody on this board can tell you why a Doctor would prescribe any medication.
Only the Doctor and the person involved know the reasons why something is prescribed.
