I've had epilepsy for 28 years. Never tried applying for SSD until about 5 years ago(denied of course) because when I was a teenager the EFA rep. told my parents and I not to bother applying. After my denial I ended up not having a doctor anymore due to mounting bills. For this reason I never bothered appealing. The reasons for the denial was because I had worked in the past which is something I had to do in order to survive. Even so, I had numerous seizures on the job at every place I worked as well as on the way to and from work.
Just started seeing a Pri. Care Physician about a month ago and have appt. for Nuero in 2 or so weeks. Fortunately I'm still recieving unemployment from my last job which I lost over a year ago. But on the other hand, I've only 10 or so weeks of that left then it's no income for me. My question is, what are the prospects of me being able to get SSD? I'd hate to have to get a job where I could be killed if I have a seizure. Unless that's a blessing in disguise
