Hi Mommy4,
There are many parents, family, friends and spouses of people with "E" on this board. I'm sure some of them will reply within a day or two. I'm pretty sure there are also some people here that have inherited their epilepsy. Neither applies to me, but I wanted to say Hi, and tell you that I think you'll get the answers you seek right here on this board.....just be patient. Good luck, Kathy

Hi Mommy4,
My names Lisa and I have 2 E kids. My third is seizure free and praying he stays that way.
Jake is 22 mths and been seizing for a year and Jenny is 14 and was diagnosed in Sept. But, I think she's been having them for years, we just didn't know what we were looking at.
One of their neuros. has attended a class on genetic E and ask if we would like to take part in a study. I don't believe that I've ever had one. But, my husband says he's not so sure. There is a big family history of Migraine headaches and ADD. So, it's possible I guess.
Not the easiest thing to deal with, but we get by.
Need to scoot, Jenny's baby sitting tonight and I need to give her a ride. Will talk to you soon.

I have hereditary epilepsy... from my mom's side but my mom doesnt have it. Actually no one in my family has E except me. But 2 cousins have had seizures, 85% of the family has migraines and 4 have panic disorder--- all are genetically linked. They want to do a study on our family bc theres so many of us (my mom is one of 13 & there are 35 cousins)

hi i have epilepsy but noone else does in my family i was told though that even though there is no family history of it there is still a chance that i could give it to my children i worry about that every day when my boy was just 2 weeks old he stopped breathing and turned blue and started shaking i thought for sure it was a seizure but i hadnt actually ever seen one but that was my first thought. he was taken into the hospital and had an eeg and it all came back normal he was later diagnosed with sleep apnea. the drs still keep a close eye on him because of that and the fact that i have epilepsy but all my kids so far seem to be good
