Hi all.
I need some advice. My wife Yolo is complaining to me about nausea thoughout the day. we went to the Dr. and was told everything is fine, she still not feeling well. And she thinks it's the lamictal that shes taking and wants to discountinue this med. But all the other AEDs turn her into a zombie where she s sleeping way too much. At least with the Lamictal she able to fuction and has pretty good seizure control. I'm hoping that someone on the board has had this problem with the nausea and can give a guy some tips as to where do I go from here?
She taking 600mg lamictal a day. plus a 1000 of tegritol and we just discontinued topamaxs.
Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Gerry,
I take 500mg Lamictal and 700mg Carbatrol. There are times when I become nauseus. What I try to do, that seems to help, is to eat a little something right after I take my meds. I think Lamictal is a miracle drug...at least for me it is! I am so much less groggy and my memory is better now that I am taking it. It would be a shame if your sweetie had to go off of it. Maybe the dose she is taking is causing her to be toxic. She may want to ask the Doctor to check her levels. Good luck. Kathy

Hi,
I don't have any info for you. But I get that sick feeling in my stomach to. It will hit& stay with me for about a week or so and as fast as it came it will disappear for a few months. And back it comes. I have been going through this for years. My meds are Dilatin 100mg 6 a day & Phenobarbital 60mg 2 a day. A year ago I was on 10 Dilatin 100 mg & 5 Phenobartial 30 mg a day And I was on that dose for over 20 years. I wonder if these seizures meds are eating away at our stomachs. They eat away at everything else. I hope your wife feels better. And I hope I find a man that will take care of me like you take care of your wife. I read a post one day that you finished for your wife because she had gotten sick. Yolo your a lucky lady to have a man who's so concerned about your health & loves you so much. Take care.
