It feels like all your insides are shaking, even though on the outside your not. My stomach nerves have been bouncing around constantly now for over a week.

Nope, your not alone! The same thing has been happening to me for about 2 months. I wish I knew what was causing it! I'ts one of the first things I feel when I wake up in the morning. Isn't it awful!

hi girls,

did you have a thorough physical exam done to rule out any physical/organic problem?

otherwise, these are symptoms of anxiety, as you probably know, since you posted on this site.

tracey, anything unusual, or eventful happen to you around a week ago, before you got these symptoms?

also, nicolette, the same question goes to you, but about two months ago? anything happened around that time?

None that I can think of. My symptoms have become debilitating. I know anxiety can manifest itsself in so many ways but this is ridicilous. I have so many symptoms I don't know where to begin. Right now it feels like the right side of my face it numb! I don't know where my anxiety comes from! I'm only 19, and it's not like I have a mortgage, family, or important job to consider. I feel guilty because I don't really have a reason to be anxious. I've been to the Doctor and of course they can't find anything wrong! I say they are wrong.

Well ive had anxiety for 10 years so im always getting some sort of symptoms at some time or other, usually nothing triggers them off. I noticed two weeks ago my lungs felt strange, kind of heavy and a little tight, then a couple of days later the stomach shakes came with it. I get this from the moment i wake up, to the time i go to bed, and it often takes me hours before i nod off as i cant relax my insides. The only time this feeling goes is if im walking about.

hi again,

so i see you're both experienced "veterans" in re to this demon....;)

i think the walking/exercising that you do tracey, is very good. it should be incorporated into a 20-30 min. 3-4 times-week routine (if possible). i'd suggest the same thing for nicolette, if that's possible for you, that is. if you guys look anywhere nowadays: the papers, the tv, listen to the radio, or any kind of media--they all talk about exercise and how wonderful it is for all sorts of problems (and the best, believe it or not, is walking!!). it's good for headaches, cramps, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.

are you girls on any meds right now? i was thinking maybe tracey was at one point? just because i see that you, tracey, have experience with it (as I have). if you are not taking any anxiolitics, maybe you should go back to a dr. again and see what's really causing the episodes this time. you know, a lot of the time there are no triggers in and of themselves, but in general, there is always something behind the problem/issue/concern--it's just that our brains hide it so well from us, we're not aware of it....

also, nicolette, there does not always have to be a trigger for these feelings. many times they come suddenly and leave you paralyzed with fear (i had horrible panic attacks at one point). nevertheless, there usually are reasons behind the fear/panic that you may not even be aware of that makes you feel this irrational fear....only you can think about what's going on in your life and see what may be making you so uncomfortable. if these symptoms interfere with your daily functioning and you're unable to work, socialize, be productive in society, etc., i would really suggest (if you can) for you to go see someone, either someone to talk to (a psycholgist or social worker), or a psychiatrist, to stabilize you with medication (at least initially--since you said the symptoms have become debilitaing)...

also, please have a blood test done!!! an annual check up that is.
anyway, i know how you guys feel. i've had anxiety and panic attacks since college.

Hi and thanks Dakota Skye! I have been seeing a Psychiatrist, and tried group therapy. I didn't like group therapy, so I'm going to start individual therapy soon. I've been on Lexapro, and it didn't work, so my Doctor has put me on Cymbalta 60mg. along with Ativan. I used to take Xanax also. The meds just don't seem to be working. My Doctor suspects that I may be Bipolar, and that's why I'am not having results with that class of medications. He said if Cymbalta didn't work, then he was going to put me on an antipsychotic. I don't see how I can be Bipolar!! After reading the symptoms, I can relate to a couple, but I don't think I'm Bipolar. I'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks!

hi NicoletteAshley,

you're on your way then! :) good that you're starting individual therapy! you're going to learn a lot!! hopefully, the therapist will be a good one.

even if you're not 100% bipolar, lithium carbonate can work wonders as a mood stabilizer!!!!. it also calms one down, and helps many women with PMS (i have horrible PMS symptoms). you don't necessarily have to be placed on an antipsychotic!!!!!

p.s. lexapro didn't work for me either--it was like taking candy....also, xanax works too quickly, and gets out of the body too quickly, leaving you "without" perhaps when you need it most....

klonopin lasts the longest (it takes the longest to leave the body, that is), and it was the only medication that helped my panic attacks).

nicky, sometims drs. label us without giving too much thought to the problem. you make sure that you stand up and speak up for yourself!!!! don't be just a "patient." it's a two-way street here. the dr. works for you and with you, not alongside you. you're not going to be an "invalid" patient in this process!!. if you think he/she is saying or thinking something you do not agree with, you should tell him/her!!!! you are your own best advocate, nicky!!!!
good luck to you, girl!!!! :)

Thanks Dakota Skye! You are so sweet!!! I can't wait to start therapy, and I hope it helps. Yesterday, my Doctor gave me Seroquel, and I'm terrified to take them! I have read about the side effects, and that has put me way off! Like you, I have severe PMS symptoms, and I have been diagnosed with PMDD, heart palpitations being one of my worst symptoms! For me it seems like a never ending cycle. I have told my Doctor that I dont think my problem is Bipolar, but of course they think they know everything!! In fact my group therapist said my Doctor seems to be imtimidated with me. She says he thinks I know way too much, therefore he can't {REMOVED} me. My worry is that since nothing has worked so far, and if Seroquel dosen't work, Well I don't know what the heck to do! I don't even know what's really wrong with me apart from the anxiety and depression. It looks like I have a long road to travel. Thanks for the reply Dakota Skye!!!:)
