View Full Version : Elevated Monocyte count prior to DX?

01-15-2007, 05:50 PM

I have been posting on the Anemia boards because I have been diagnosed as severely anemic due to symptoms and bloodwork.

After getting my lab results last week, my PCP turned around and had me repeat my CBC tests, and I am awaiting the results tomorrow. One thing I noticed was an elevated monocyte level, mine was 12.0 and the lab range is 3.0 - 11.0.

I had no idea what this meant and after doing some reading, see that it can be indicative of different types of cancer and serious infections.

So...just wondering if anyone else's blood work showed elevated levels prior to diagnosis. My A/G ratio and RDW were high, and the #'s for HGB, HCT, MCV, and MCH, MCHC were low(thus the anemia diagnosis).

Thanks for any input
